Bu seminerde \u0130slam d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesinde kullan\u0131lan kavramlar\u0131n anlam ve s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131n\u0131n sorgulanmas\u0131 \u00fczerinde durulmu\u015ftur. “\u0130slam D\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesi,” “\u0130slam Medeniyeti,” ve “\u0130slam Bilimleri” gibi kavramlar\u0131n i\u00e7eri\u011fi tarihsel ve entelekt\u00fcel ba\u011flamda ele al\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu kavramlar\u0131n homojen bir yap\u0131ya i\u015faret etmedi\u011fi ve uzun bir tarihsel s\u00fcre\u00e7te farkl\u0131 toplumsal ba\u011flamlarda \u015fekillendi\u011fi belirtilmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n

Seminerde ayr\u0131ca, Bat\u0131’da kullan\u0131lan “orta\u00e7a\u011f” kavram\u0131n\u0131n M\u00fcsl\u00fcman d\u00fcnyada kabul edilmemesi ve bu durumun neden oldu\u011fu sorunlar tart\u0131\u015f\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. M\u00fcsl\u00fcman entelekt\u00fceller, orta\u00e7a\u011f d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesini bir “a\u015f\u0131lm\u0131\u015fl\u0131k” fikriyle ele\u015ftiren modern yakla\u015f\u0131mlar\u0131 reddetmi\u015ftir. This seminar focused on the conceptual and definitional challenges of Islamic thought. Terms like “Islamic Thought,” “Islamic Civilization,” and “Islamic Sciences” were critically examined for their historical and intellectual context. It was noted that these concepts are not homogeneous and were shaped across diverse social and historical contexts.<\/p>\n

The seminar also discussed the rejection of the term “medieval” in the Muslim world and the issues arising from this rejection. While modern perspectives criticized medieval thought as “outdated,” Muslim intellectuals resisted such notions, aiming to preserve the timeless relevance of Islamic thought. However, this lack of historical perspective has sometimes challenged the universal claims of Islamic philosophy.<\/p>\n

Another key point was the evaluation of Islamic philosophy as the first systematic adaptation of Greek thought into Arabic. Yet, the historical context of this adaptation is often overlooked.
