Gazali\u2019nin mant\u0131k ve usul aras\u0131ndaki ba\u011flant\u0131y\u0131 kurma \u00e7abas\u0131, \u0130slami ilimlerin metodolojik bir temele oturtulmas\u0131nda \u00f6nemli bir d\u00f6n\u00fcm noktas\u0131d\u0131r. Mant\u0131k, yaln\u0131zca f\u0131k\u0131h usul\u00fc i\u00e7in de\u011fil, di\u011fer nazari ilimler i\u00e7in de bir k\u0131lavuz olarak kabul edilmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This seminar discussed the methodological foundations of <em>Usul al-Fiqh<\/em> (principles of Islamic jurisprudence), focusing particularly on its relationship with logic. Through Al-Ghazali\u2019s approach, the historical development and philosophical basis of <em>Usul al-Fiqh<\/em> were explored.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>The Foundation of Usul al-Fiqh:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Usul al-Fiqh<\/em> is defined as a methodology for identifying the evidence behind Islamic legal rulings.<\/li>\n<li>According to Al-Ghazali, this discipline aims to strike a balance between reason and revelation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Relationship Between Logic and Usul:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Al-Ghazali regarded logic as an inseparable part of <em>Usul al-Fiqh<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>In his work <em>Al-Mustasfa<\/em>, Al-Ghazali emphasized that theoretical sciences cannot be reliable without logic.<\/li>\n<li>Logic facilitates certainty through definitions (<em>tasawwur<\/em>) and syllogisms (<em>tasdiq<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Connection with Kalam:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The foundational principles (<em>mabadi<\/em>) of <em>Usul al-Fiqh<\/em> are provided by <em>Kalam<\/em> (Islamic theology).<\/li>\n<li>Al-Ghazali argued that <em>Kalam<\/em> establishes sound foundations regarding knowledge and existence, supporting <em>Usul al-Fiqh<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Logic and the Arabic Language:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The legitimacy of logic was debated in early periods, with some scholars suggesting Arabic grammar (<em>nahw<\/em>) as an alternative.<\/li>\n<li>However, Al-Ghazali defended the indispensability of logic in <em>Usul al-Fiqh<\/em> and integrated it into the discipline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Historical Development of Usul al-Fiqh:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The first systematic works on <em>Usul al-Fiqh<\/em> were written in the 4th century AH.<\/li>\n<li>While Imam Shafi\u2018i\u2019s <em>Al-Risala<\/em> is considered an early example, Jassas\u2019s <em>Al-Fusul<\/em> represents the maturity of the discipline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Usul al-Fiqh<\/em> provides an essential methodology for Islamic law and thought. Al-Ghazali\u2019s effort to connect logic and <em>Usul<\/em> marked a significant turning point in establishing a methodological foundation for Islamic sciences.
