The reasoning techniques employed in this process are central to addressing fundamental theological issues.<\/li>\n<li>Methods are not only used to explain matters but also play a crucial role in the pursuit of truth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Qiyas al-Ghayb ala\u2019l-Shahid (Analogy from the Known to the Unknown):<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This method draws conclusions about the unknown (ghayb) based on the known (shahid) and is particularly used in understanding the attributes of God.<\/li>\n<li>For example: \u201cEvery agent is powerful. God is an agent. Therefore, God is powerful.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Critique: Since the known and unknown may not share identical realities, this method may be considered inductive, raising questions about its validity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sabir wa Taqsim (Elimination and Division):<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This method involves listing all possibilities and eliminating incorrect ones to arrive at the correct conclusion. It is often applied in discussions about the created nature of the universe.<\/li>\n<li>Critique: If all possibilities cannot be exhaustively listed, the reliability of the method is questionable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>In\u2018ikas al-Adilla (Reversal of Evidence):<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This method asserts that the absence of evidence implies the absence of the conclusion (medlul).<\/li>\n<li>Critique: When not all evidence is known, reaching definitive conclusions can be problematic, limiting the method&#8217;s applicability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ilzam (Compulsion):<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>This method uses agreed-upon premises to address disputed issues. It is primarily used to silence an opponent during debates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The methodologies of <em>Kalam<\/em> aim to substantiate religious beliefs and seek truth through rational reasoning. While these methods have contributed significantly to the objective foundation of Islamic theology, they are also subject to various critiques and limitations.
