The discussion also differentiates between involuntary (<em>i\u1e0d\u1e6dir\u0101r\u012b<\/em>) and voluntary (<em>ikhtiy\u0101r\u012b<\/em>) poverty, analyzing how Sufism gradually adapted to urban life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>The Concepts of Poverty and Destitution in Sufism<\/strong>: In early Sufi literature, <em>faqr<\/em> was often synonymous with dervishhood, while <em>miskin<\/em> referred to absolute material deprivation and detachment from worldly ties.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Two Types of Poverty: Involuntary (<em>I\u1e0d\u1e6dir\u0101r\u012b<\/em>) and Voluntary (<em>Ikhtiy\u0101r\u012b<\/em>)<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><em>Involuntary poverty<\/em> (<em>i\u1e0d\u1e6dir\u0101r\u012b faqr<\/em>) refers to being poor due to external circumstances. True <em>faqr<\/em> is seen as detachment from worldly attachments and complete reliance on God alone.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong>:<br \/>\nThis seminar examines the role of poverty in Sufi thought from a historical perspective, discussing how the concept evolved from early Islamic society to later Sufi traditions. While poverty was initially a circumstantial reality, Sufism transformed it into a conscious ideal.
