His final dreams offer insights into the Mesopotamian tradition of dream interpretation and visionary experiences.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dream and Vision Traditions in Mesopotamia<\/strong><br \/>\nIn Mesopotamian belief, dreams were not merely subconscious images but divine messages. Specific rituals were performed for inducing prophetic dreams, including purification rites and fasting, often conducted in secluded sanctuaries.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Katabasis: The Descent into the Underworld<\/strong><br \/>\nEnkidu\u2019s vision of descending into the realm of the dead aligns with the widespread mythological motif of katabasis (journey to the underworld).
