The structure of professions based on division of labor required individuals to use their talents while also contributing to the greater good of society.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mitigating the Anxiety of Predestination Through Intense Professional Activity<\/strong><br \/>\nSince the Calvinist individual could never be certain of their salvation, they sought reassurance through worldly success. Leading a disciplined life and excelling in one\u2019s profession became the only means of seeking divine favor.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Link Between Calvinist Ethics and Capitalist Rationality<\/strong><br \/>\nWeber highlights that the Calvinist emphasis on rigorous work discipline directly aligns with capitalist production relations.
