Tart\u0131\u015fma, \u0130slam d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesinde ak\u0131l, ilham, taklit ve \u00f6\u011fretim gibi epistemolojik kaynaklar\u0131n metafizik bilgi (\u00f6zellikle marifetullah) \u00fcretip \u00fcretemeyece\u011fi sorusu \u00fczerinden \u015fekillenir. E\u015fref Alta\u015f analyzes Fakhr al-D\u012bn al-R\u0101z\u012b\u2019s treatment of this issue in <em>al-Mu<\/em><em>\u1e25a\u1e63\u1e63al<\/em>, particularly his response to the B\u0101\u1e6din\u012b (esoteric) view that metaphysical truth can only be attained through a divinely appointed, infallible imam. R\u0101z\u012b&#8217;s critique of the B\u0101\u1e6din\u012b perspective supports a rationalist epistemology in line with Sunn\u012b theology, asserting that human reason is capable of attaining metaphysical truths.
