      \nAccording to Junayd, a true Sufi is one who exhibits complete trust (tawakkul<\/em>) in God and full surrender to His will. Tawakkul means cutting reliance on worldly causes and placing unconditional confidence in divine providence.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Abandoning Causes or Transcending Them?<\/strong><\/span>
      \nThe Sufi path does not necessitate a literal abandonment of worldly causes but calls for an awareness that these causes are not the true source of outcomes. Junayd teaches that while one may engage with causes, ultimate effect and agency belong to God.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Withdrawal from the World or Inward Depth?<\/strong><\/span>
      \nAsceticism (zuhd<\/em>) and seclusion (\u02bfuzla<\/em>) do not require physical isolation from society. Instead, the Sufi detaches from the world inwardly. They live within society but remain spiritually centered on God\u2014achieving purification without rejecting the external world.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. The Link Between God-Consciousness (Taqw\u0101) and Gnosis (Ma<\/strong>\u02bfrifa)<\/strong><\/span>
      \nTaqw\u0101<\/em>, or spiritual vigilance, prepares the heart for ma<\/em>\u02bfrifa<\/em> (divine knowledge). Avoiding sin is not just about external discipline\u2014it demands a heart constantly aware of God\u2019s presence.<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. The Sufi\u2019s Goal: Perpetual Union with God<\/strong><\/span>
      \nThe aim of the Sufi is continual intimacy and presence with God. This state is not achieved merely through physical retreat but through sustained awareness, attentiveness, and spiritual wakefulness.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
