Divine love requires exclusivity\u2014just as lovers are possessive of one another. God\u2019s love for His servant is protective, seeking the servant\u2019s full devotion and undivided heart.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong> The Spiritual Function of Trials and Affliction<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Suffering, in the form of loss or separation, may be an expression of divine jealousy. These trials are not punishments but acts of purification. By stripping away attachments, God reclaims His servant entirely for Himself.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong> Jealousy as an Inner Check on Spiritual Exhibitionism<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Junayd also links divine jealousy to spiritual humility. When the servant becomes too confident in their spiritual state, divine jealousy may manifest to humble them.
