After bodily death, the soul continues to exist. This forms the basis of Ibn S\u012bn\u0101\u2019s dualistic view.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Formal and Rational Aspects of the Soul<\/strong><br \/>\nIbn S\u012bn\u0101 focuses not on the external behavior of the soul but its rational and spiritual dimensions. The intellect (<em>\u02bfaql<\/em>) is described as the key to purifying and elevating the soul.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Theoretical and Practical Intellect<\/strong><br \/>\nThe intellect operates in two dimensions: theoretical (to produce knowledge) and practical (to guide ethical conduct). After death, it either moves toward perfection and truth or suffers deficiency and torment.
