T\u00fcrk\u00e7edeki &#8220;g\u00fczel \u00e7ocuk&#8221;, &#8220;\u00e7al\u0131\u015fkan \u00f6\u011frenci&#8221;, &#8220;kalabal\u0131k \u015fehir&#8221; gibi kal\u0131plar\u0131n Arap\u00e7a\u2019daki kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131n nas\u0131l kuruldu\u011fu, bu yap\u0131n\u0131n c\u00fcmlede bir \u00f6ge olarak nas\u0131l g\u00f6rev ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 detayl\u0131 bir bi\u00e7imde ele al\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Analogous to expressions in Turkish such as &#8220;the beautiful child&#8221; or &#8220;the<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">crowded city,&#8221; the session explored how these structures are formed in Arabic and how they function syntactically. The focus was solely on definite adjective phrases, with brief references to their indefinite counterparts for contrast.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Main Themes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Structural Formation<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">In Arabic, the order of an adjective phrase differs from Turkish. The described noun (al-maw\u1e63\u016bf) precedes the adjective (a\u1e63-\u1e63ifa). For example, the phrase &#8220;the beautiful child&#8221; becomes &#8220;a\u1e6d-\u1e6difl al-jam\u012bl&#8221; in Arabic.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Agreement Rules<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The adjective must fully agree with the noun it describes in four grammatical aspects:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Definiteness (with or without the definite article al-)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Gender (masculine or feminine)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Number (singular, dual, or plural)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Case\/I\u2018r\u0101b (nominative, accusative, genitive)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Syntactic Function<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Although adjective phrases are not full sentences, they function as integral parts of sentences\u2014serving as subjects, predicates, objects, or genitive constructions depending on the context.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Examples and Application<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Numerous examples were discussed, including &#8220;al-kit\u0101b al-muqaddas&#8221; (the holy book), &#8220;al-mad\u012bna al-munawwara&#8221; (the enlightened city), and &#8220;as-saydaliyyah al-mun\u0101wiba&#8221; (the on-duty pharmacy). Participants also practiced constructing phrases through guided exercises.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Linguistic and Cultural Distinctions<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The seminar emphasized the difference between Persianized constructions commonly used in Turkish (e.g., &#8220;Kur\u2019an-\u0131 Kerim&#8221;) and proper Arabic equivalents (&#8220;al-Qur\u2019\u0101nu al-Kar\u012bm&#8221;), clarifying potential areas of confusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\">This seminar effectively laid the groundwork for understanding and producing definite adjective phrases in Arabic. By blending grammar rules with practical usage, learners gained both structural insight and expressive competence. The seminar highlighted the importance of adjective agreement in comprehension and translation, reinforcing its foundational role in classical and modern Arabic.
