Kelimelerin k\u00f6kenleri, ses de\u011fi\u015fimleri, anlam geni\u015flemeleri ve eski T\u00fcrk d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda y\u0131ld\u0131z bilgisi, bur\u00e7 sistemi, insan karakteri, ahlak, t\u00f6re ve h\u00fck\u00fcmdarl\u0131k d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesi i\u00e7indeki kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131klar\u0131 ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 bi\u00e7imde ele al\u0131n\u0131r. Bilginin ve s\u00f6z\u00fcn kal\u0131c\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131, ahlaki sorumluluk ve dilin d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnceyi belirleyici rol\u00fc seminerin temel sonu\u00e7lar\u0131 olarak \u00f6ne \u00e7\u0131kar.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Seminar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this seminar is to explain how the verses of <em>Kutadgu Bilig<\/em> should be interpreted within the contexts of language, culture, belief, cosmology and social order. The origins of words, sound changes, semantic expansions and their meanings in the ancient Turkic worldview\u2014especially regarding star knowledge, zodiac systems, human character, morality, customary law and rulership\u2014are examined in detail. Through commentary, both linguistic analysis and cultural memory are conveyed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Concepts of Nature, Character and Nobility<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Qualities such as noble, humble-natured and compassionate are explained according to ancient Turkic understanding. \u201cLow\u201d refers to humility rather than inferiority. Good character is described as an innate quality essential to society.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Linguistic Analyses and Word Origins<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Words such as \u201ciyi, edg\u00fc, tesekel, amun, sizsiz, kalmasunu, tanguk\/tangsuk, alk\u0131nmak\/t\u00fckenmek\u201d are examined through their roots, phonetic development and historical semantics. Sound changes, root\u2013suffix relations and Old Turkic usages are clarified.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Gift, Offering and the Concept of Value<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Gift culture is discussed through words like \u201ctanguk\u201d and \u201ctangsuk.\u201d The difference between the ruler\u2019s gift and the scholar\u2019s gift is emphasized: material gifts are temporary, but knowledge, writing and culture are lasting.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Permanence of Speech and Eternity of Writing<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>While worldly possessions diminish, writing endures. Speech disappears over time, whereas written words survive and circulate across generations. A ruler\u2019s name becomes eternal once inscribed.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Gratitude, Blessing and Ancestral Heritage<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Gratitude is described as making a blessing visible. A father\u2019s position, name and certain moral traits may pass to the son. Foresight, generosity and intelligence are treated as aspects of moral inheritance.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> Cosmology: Planets, Zodiac Signs and Stars<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A large section discusses ancient Turkic cosmology. Planetary names and characteristics, the zodiac belt, the twelve signs and celestial houses are explained. Planetary movements and lights are interpreted through ancient observational knowledge.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> Nature, Seasons and the Structure of the World<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Descriptive examples of soil, fire, rain, sprouts and seasonal cycles illustrate the role of natural observation in shaping time perception and life practices.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong> Ancient Professions, Knowledge and the Understanding of Learning<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Shepherding as the profession of prophets, the undervaluing of ancient knowledge and superficiality in modern academia are discussed. True knowledge is said to require hardship.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><strong> Decline of Thought and the Corruption of Language<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The weakening of Turkish as a language of thought, artificial vocabulary, misuse of expressions, lack of phonetic awareness and problems in naming culture are criticized. Language shapes thought, and cultural production weakens when language deteriorates.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The seminar demonstrates that <em>Kutadgu Bilig<\/em> presents an integrated worldview connecting language, culture and cosmology. Strong relations are drawn between the structure of Old Turkic, word origins, ancient beliefs, rulership values and human character.
