The seminar examines the core elements supporting Weber\u2019s causal link between Protestantism and the spirit of capitalism.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Practical Effects of Inner-Worldly Asceticism<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In Protestant, especially Puritan tradition, asceticism does not mean withdrawal from the world but living within it in a disciplined manner. This approach produces a lifestyle that is controlled, planned and rational, making economic activity continuous and systematic.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> The Religious Basis of the Vocation (Beruf)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In Weber\u2019s analysis, vocation is understood as a duty assigned by God. Work is not merely an economic activity but a religious obligation.
