The seminar examines how Calvinist attitudes toward work developed into a systematic, rational and disciplined form of economic behavior.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Interpreting Vocation as a Divine Duty<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In Calvinist thought, vocation is a responsibility assigned by God. Performing one\u2019s vocation is not merely an economic act but a fulfillment of divine order. This elevates work into a sacred discipline.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> The Duty to Maintain Order in the World<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For the Calvinist individual, the world reflects God\u2019s order, and preserving this order is a human duty. Therefore, order, consistency and accountability dominate all aspects of life.
