It studies the origins, development, and interaction of religions, focusing not on theology but on the historical and cultural aspects of belief systems.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Essential Elements of Religion<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A belief system qualifies as a religion if it contains certain essential elements: belief in the sacred or divine, holy texts or traditions, ritual practices, moral systems, sacred spaces, and ideas about life after death.
