The lesson begins with short translation exercises and gradually moves toward broader text analyses that demonstrate the copular verb\u2019s grammatical and contextual functions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Revisiting Compound Construction<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The seminar explains in detail how complex Persian compounds\u2014such as \u201cthe poet of the Republic of Turkey\u2019s national anthem\u201d\u2014are translated from the final element backwards. The role of the <em>diri<\/em> marker and the preservation of proper names are demonstrated with examples.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Date Expressions and Etymological Notes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The origins of <em>tevellud<\/em> (birth year) and <em>vefat<\/em> (death year) are explored, showing how they function within sentences and how they relate to Ottoman Turkish.
