Ali hem Cemel hem S\u0131ffin\u2019de hakl\u0131d\u0131r; kar\u015f\u0131 tarafta yer alanlar hatal\u0131d\u0131r fakat fas\u0131k de\u011fildir. Ai\u015fe, Talha ve Z\u00fcbeyr\u2019in niyeti sava\u015fmak de\u011fil, sulh sa\u011flamakt\u0131. Hatalar\u0131 niyetle ili\u015fkilendirilmez ve tekfir edilmez.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li><strong> Hakem Olay\u0131 ve Tekfir Meselesi<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Haric\u00eeler hakem tayinini \u015firk sayarak Hz. Ali ve Muaviye\u2019yi tekfir eder. Ehl-i S\u00fcnnet ise hakem tayininin Kur\u2019an\u2019da benzeri bulundu\u011fu i\u00e7in Hz. Ali\u2019nin hakemli\u011fi kabul etmesinin me\u015fru oldu\u011funu savunur. Haric\u00eelerin tekfir anlay\u0131\u015f\u0131 bu nedenle temelsizdir.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"11\">\n<li><strong> Efdal\u2013Mafd\u00fbl Meselesi<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cEn faziletli olan m\u0131 imam olmal\u0131?\u201d sorusu i\u015flenir. Ba\u011fd\u00e2d\u00ee\u2019ye g\u00f6re fazilet \u00f6nemli olsa da imametin \u015fart\u0131 de\u011fildir. Liyakat, siyaset ve adalet daha belirleyici \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fctlerdir. Ba\u011fd\u00e2d\u00ee\u2019nin yakla\u015f\u0131m\u0131 imametin siyasal bir kurumdan \u00f6nce ilah\u00ee adalet, toplumsal d\u00fczen ve akide b\u00fct\u00fcnl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcyle ili\u015fkili bir zorunluluk oldu\u011funu g\u00f6stermektedir.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Seminar<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This seminar aims to explain the final theological discussions in al-Baghd\u0101d\u012b\u2019s <em>U\u1e63\u016bl al-D\u012bn<\/em>, focusing on imamate, its necessity, conditions, legitimacy, the selection process, the critique of Shi\u02bfi doctrines, infallibility claims, the status of the four caliphs, the events of Jamal and \u1e62iff\u012bn, the arbitration incident, and issues of takf\u012br and virtue-preference (af\u1e0daliyyah). The seminar highlights how imamate developed from a political mechanism into a doctrinal issue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> The Obligation of Imamate<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Imamate is required to preserve social order, apply legal rulings, manage military affairs, protect borders, and uphold justice. Mu\u02bftazilites justify this through the principle of divine grace, whereas Ash\u02bfar\u012bs argue its obligation is known only through revelation. Dissenting views claim imamate would be unnecessary in a world without mutual injustice, a view Ba\u011fd\u0101d\u012b rejects.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Appointment of the Imam: Designation or Election?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Sunni theology maintains that imamate is established by the election of qualified scholars, not by divine designation. Shi\u02bfi claims of designation through prophetic instruction rely on solitary reports, not mass-transmitted evidence, and thus lack epistemic certainty.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Number of Imams<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Only one imam may exist in a single polity. Two imams in distant regions may be conceivable. Shi\u02bfi claims of a hidden and an apparent imam are rejected as doctrinally invalid.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> The Quraysh Condition<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The hadith \u201cThe leaders are from Quraysh\u201d is taken as a binding legal indication. Early communal consensus reinforces this. Opposing views argue for merit-based leadership irrespective of lineage.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Conditions of Imamate<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Al-Baghd\u0101d\u012b lists four essential traits:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Juristic competence,<\/li>\n<li>Justice and piety,<\/li>\n<li>Political capability,<\/li>\n<li>Descent from Quraysh.<br \/>\nShi\u02bfi addition of infallibility is rejected as theologically unsound.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> The Debate on Infallibility<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Infallibility belongs only to prophets. Historical events, such as \u1e24asan\u2019s pledge to Mu\u02bf\u0101wiya, show that imams are not immune from error. Shi\u02bfi claims therefore collapse under historical scrutiny.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> Establishing the Legitimacy of a Caliph<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The election must be conducted by scholars possessing both ijtih\u0101d and piety. A sinful elector cannot validly appoint the imam. No minimum number is required beyond collective agreement.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong> The Four Rightly Guided Caliphs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The legitimacy of the four caliphs is established through early consensus and historical acceptance. Shi\u02bfi accusations of usurpation are refuted. Therefore, the takf\u012br of \u02bfAl\u012b and Mu\u02bf\u0101wiya is invalid.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"11\">\n<li><strong> The Af<\/strong><strong>\u1e0dal\u2013Mafd\u016bl Issue<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Virtue is important but not a strict requirement for imamate. Leadership depends more on ability and justice than pure spiritual rank.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"12\">\n<li><strong> Inheritance and Continuity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Imamate is not hereditary. The sequence from Ab\u016b Bakr to \u02bfUmar, then to \u02bfUthm\u0101n through a council, demonstrates a non-hereditary, elective model.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"13\">\n<li><strong> Kh\u0101rijites, Mu<\/strong><strong>\u02bftazila, and Sah<\/strong><strong>\u0101ba<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Kh\u0101rijites excommunicated most Companions; Mu\u02bftazilites labeled some as sinful. Sunnis affirm the faith and integrity of the Companions and reject sweeping takf\u012br.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This seminar shows that imamate is grounded in communal reasoning, justice, and continuity rather than divine appointment or hereditary privilege. It systematically refutes Shi\u02bfi claims of infallibility and designation, explains the legitimacy of the early caliphs, and provides a balanced theological interpretation of early Islamic political conflicts.
