Dersin sonunda tan\u0131m bahsine giri\u015f yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015f, tan\u0131m\u0131n neden zorunlu oldu\u011fu ve bilgi \u00fcretimindeki i\u015flevi temellendirilmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Lesson<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this lesson is to explain the central role of logic in Islamic sciences, the function of logic as the criterion of truth, the anti-sophistic orientation of logical doctrine, the position of logic in al-Ghaz\u0101l\u012b\u2019s thought, and why logic is a necessary introductory science for all disciplines. The conceptual foundations for entering the topic of definition were also established.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> The Position of Logic Against Sophistic Thinking<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The history of logic begins with Aristotle\u2019s attempt to formulate principles of truth against the sophists. In Islamic thought the same stance is adopted: \u201cThe realities of things are fixed.\u201d Truth does not change from person to person; the mind must grasp things as they are. Logic provides the shared rules that enable access to truth.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> The Role of Logic in Islamic Sciences and al-Ghaz\u0101l\u012b\u2019s Approach<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In his critique of the B\u0101\u1e6din\u012bs, al-Ghaz\u0101l\u012b emphasizes logic as the discipline that establishes universal criteria of knowledge. The B\u0101\u1e6din\u012bs deny common rational principles, whereas logic articulates them. Thus logic becomes the common language of all sciences, applicable to jurisprudence, theology, and other fields. For this reason F\u0101r\u0101b\u012b calls logic \u201cthe messenger of the sciences.\u201d<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Sources of Knowledge and the Role of Concepts<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Knowledge arises from both sense perception and intellect. The ultimate verifier of truth is the state of things themselves. Concepts are universal notions in the mind. Logic organizes their relations and ensures the soundness of meaning and inference.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Introduction to Definition: Purpose and Function<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Definition distinguishes a thing from others and clarifies its meaning. Without defining a thing, no reliable knowledge can be produced about it. The components of a definition must be better known and prior to the thing being defined; otherwise definition fails to clarify and produces ambiguity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This lesson clarified the foundational role of logic, its anti-sophistic orientation, the significance of al-Ghaz\u0101l\u012b\u2019s logical method, the sources of knowledge, and the function of concepts.
