B\u00f6ylece F\u00e2r\u00e2b\u00ee\u2019nin burhan anlay\u0131\u015f\u0131nda kesin bilginin hangi yap\u0131lar \u00fczerinden kuruldu\u011fu g\u00f6sterilmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Lesson<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this lesson is to explain, within al-F\u0101r\u0101b\u012b\u2019s <em>Kit\u0101b al-Burh\u0101n<\/em>, the relations of priority and posteriority, the cause\u2013effect structure, the distinction between in\u2018\u012b and limm\u012b demonstrations, the kinds of necessity in knowledge and existence, the universal\u2013particular relation, and the connection between demonstration and its conclusion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Priority and Posteriority in Knowledge<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Priority in knowledge may be temporal or intellectual. Particulars are known first in sensation, but universals are prior in intellect, since without the universal one cannot judge the particulars under it.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Universal\u2013Particular Relation<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Particulars provide the sensory basis; universals provide the conceptual structure. The intellect cannot judge about individuals unless it grasps their universal kind.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Priority and Posteriority in Existence<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Existential priority arises when the absence of A entails the absence of B, yet the presence of A does not necessitate the presence of B. This expresses the causal order between cause and effect.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> In\u2018\u012b and Limm\u012b Demonstration<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The in\u2018\u012b demonstration moves from effect to cause and provides knowledge that a proposition is true without giving its explanation. The limm\u012b demonstration moves from cause to effect and provides the true explanatory ground; the middle term must genuinely produce the conclusion.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Four Types of Priority\u2013Posteriority<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Four modes appear: mutual implication, posterior implying prior, prior implying posterior, and mere concomitance without implication. These include all causal and non-causal pairings.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> Parts of Demonstration and Knowledge of the Conclusion<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The premises are prior to the conclusion. First principles are not derived from anything.
