E\u011fer halk \u00c7in\u2019e yakla\u015f\u0131r ve onlar\u0131n d\u00fczenine dahil olursa yok olaca\u011f\u0131 s\u00f6ylenir. Bu tehdit hem siyasi hem k\u00fclt\u00fcrel bir \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcl\u00fc\u015f\u00fc ifade eder.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> \u00c7in \u0130\u00e7lerine Yerle\u015fmenin Tehlikesi<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cBeriye \u00c7ugay\u0131\u015f, T\u00f6g\u00fcltin yaz\u0131\u201d ifadeleri g\u00fcneydeki da\u011f ve ova b\u00f6lgesidir. T\u00fcrkler bu b\u00f6lgelere giderse asimilasyon ve yok olu\u015f ka\u00e7\u0131n\u0131lmaz olur. Metinde bu yer de\u011fi\u015fimi a\u00e7\u0131k\u00e7a tehlike olarak g\u00f6sterilir.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> K\u00f6t\u00fc \u0130nsanlar\u0131n E\u011fitmesi ve Aldatmas\u0131<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cAny\u0131k ki\u015fi an\u00e7a bo\u015fkurur ermi\u015f\u201d c\u00fcmlesi k\u00f6t\u00fc insanlar\u0131n T\u00fcrk halk\u0131n\u0131 yanl\u0131\u015f y\u00f6nlendirdi\u011fini belirtir. K\u00f6t\u00fc \u00f6\u011f\u00fctler, tatl\u0131 s\u00f6zler ve maddi hediyelerle halk\u0131n kand\u0131r\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 anlat\u0131l\u0131r.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong> Uzak ve Yak\u0131n Kavimlere Verilen Mallar\u0131n Kalitesi<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cUrak ise yavlak ag\u0131 verir, yaguk erse edg\u00fc ag\u0131 verirler\u201d ifadesi \u00c7in\u2019in uzak kavimlere k\u00f6t\u00fc, yak\u0131n olanlara iyi mallar verdi\u011fini, b\u00f6ylece siyasi ba\u011f kurdu\u011funu anlat\u0131r. Metin T\u00fcrk halk\u0131n\u0131n birli\u011fini korumas\u0131 ve d\u0131\u015f etkilere kar\u015f\u0131 dikkatli olmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fini g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc bir retorikle vurgular.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Lesson <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this lesson is to explain the linguistic features of the south face of the K\u00fcl Tegin inscription, how the political relations between China and the Turks are presented in the text, the origins of words, cultural concepts, and the historical background, and to reveal the main warning message of the inscription.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes <\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> The Wise and Brave Men Not Being Promoted by the Tavga\u00e7<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In the text, the expression \u201cthe good wise man, the good brave man was not advanced\u201d states that China did not promote good, wise, and brave men. The word <em>alp<\/em> carries the meaning of heroic and also \u201chard, strong person.\u201d This expresses that the talented people of the Turks were not valued.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> The Historical Background of the Tavga\u00e7 and Chinese Peoples<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The name Tavga\u00e7 is a designation given to the peoples ruling the north of China; there is a historical sequence Sienpi \u2192 Tavga\u00e7 \u2192 Ruan Ruan \u2192 G\u00f6kt\u00fcrk. For this reason the names Tavga\u00e7 and China are used interchangeably in the inscription. Phonetic differences and variations in Chinese sources caused the diversification of this name.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> The Crime Belonging Only to the Individual and Not Touching Relatives<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The expression \u201cif one person errs, they do not kill his clan, his people, his relatives\u201d states that in China the mistake of an individual does not extend as punishment to his relatives. <em>Ugu\u015f<\/em> means lineage, <em>bodun<\/em> means people, <em>b\u00f6\u015f\u00fck<\/em> means kin. <em>K\u0131dmaz<\/em> means \u201cdoes not kill, does not punish.\u201d This is presented in contrast with the Turkic penal understanding.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Being Deceived by Sweet Speech and Silk<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cSweet speech, soft mouth\u201d are the sweet words and gentle manner of the Chinese. It is stated that they deceived the Turkic people with valuable silk and fabrics. Thus the text says \u201cmany Turkic people died.\u201d<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> The Warning Directed to the Turkic People: The Danger of Destruction<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The expression \u201cthe Turkic people will die\u201d is a warning. If the people approach China and enter its order, they will be destroyed. This expresses a dissolution that is both political and cultural.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> The Danger of Settling Inside China<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The expressions \u201cto the southern Chugay\u0131\u015f, to the T\u00f6g\u00fcltin plain\u201d indicate the southern mountain and plain region. If the Turks move to these regions, assimilation and destruction become inevitable. The text clearly shows this movement as a danger.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> Evil Men Teaching and Misleading<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The sentence \u201cthe evil man instructed thus\u201d states that evil men misled the Turkic people. It is explained that the people were deceived with bad counsel, sweet speech, and material gifts.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong> The Quality of Goods Given to Far and Near Peoples<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The expression \u201cif far, they give bad goods; if near, they give good goods\u201d states that China gave inferior goods to far peoples and good goods to near ones, thus establishing political ties. This is a foreign policy strategy.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><strong> Ignorant People Being Deceived by This Mechanism<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The expression \u201cthe person who does not know knowledge, taking the word, approached and died\u201d states that those who lacked knowledge believed the sweet words and approached China, and as a result died.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li><strong> Going South Destroying the Turkic People<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The sentence \u201cif you go to that land, the Turkic people will perish\u201d states that settling in the southern Chinese region will eliminate the Turkic people. This is one of the main warnings of the inscription.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"11\">\n<li><strong> The Security and Stability Provided by Staying in \u00d6t\u00fcken<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The expression \u201csitting in \u00d6t\u00fcken land, if you send caravans\u2026\u201d states that if you stay in \u00d6t\u00fcken, trade will proceed in safety and there will be no trouble. \u00d6t\u00fcken is presented as the center of peace and power in the Turkic state structure.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this lesson, it was explained that in the south face of the K\u00fcl Tegin inscription, China\u2019s politics of sweet words and silk, the Turkic people\u2019s being deceived, the central importance of \u00d6t\u00fcken, and the dangers that moving to the south will bring.
