Halk\u0131n eski g\u00fcc\u00fcn\u00fc kaybetmesi yaz\u0131t\u0131n ana temalar\u0131ndan biridir.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sonu\u00e7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bu derste 6. seminer metninde ge\u00e7en y\u0131l adland\u0131rmalar\u0131, y\u00f6n ve yer bildiren ifadeler, yab\u0131z ve y\u0131ga\u00e7 gibi kelimelerin anlam alanlar\u0131 ile halk\u0131n zay\u0131flama s\u00fcrecine dair anlat\u0131mlar ele al\u0131nm\u0131\u015f; Eski T\u00fcrk\u00e7enin zaman\u2013mek\u00e2n kavramlar\u0131n\u0131 ifade etme bi\u00e7imleri a\u00e7\u0131klanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Lesson<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this lesson is to explain the expressions in the continuation of the south face of the K\u00fcl Tegin inscription, the origins of calendar-related words, place and direction markers, the semantic developments of time\u2013season expressions, the phonetic\u2013morphological properties of words like <em>yab\u0131z<\/em>, <em>y\u0131ga\u00e7<\/em>, <em>ylgaru<\/em>, and the use of year designations in Old Turkic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Main Themes<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Year Names and the Animal Calendar System<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>In Old Turkic there are no month names; months are expressed by numbers. Years are named according to the animal calendar. The word \u201cy\u0131lk\u201d means year. \u201cBars year\u201d is the year of the tiger. These animal names underwent phonetic change across Turkic dialects.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> The Meaning and Usage of \u201cYab\u0131z\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cYab\u0131z\u201d means bad, weak, or poor. In the text \u201cyab\u0131z people\u201d refers to the weakened condition of the people. The word appears in various dialects as <em>yab\u0131z<\/em>, <em>yav\u0131z<\/em>, <em>yavis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> The Word \u201cY\u0131ga\u00e7\u201d and the Semantic Field of Tree<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cY\u0131ga\u00e7\u201d means tree. Its root is widespread in Old Turkic and forms the basis of many compounds. Place names containing \u201cy\u0131ga\u00e7\u201d indicate wooded or forested areas.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> The Word \u201cYlgaru\u201d and Directional Expression<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cYlgaru\u201d means upward or to the upper direction. Directional adverbs like this are common in Old Turkic. The suffix <em>-garu<\/em> parallels other directional structures.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> The Expression \u201cUp to Upper Shantun\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The expression \u201cylgaru Shantun teg\u201d states that the movement reached the upper\/northern part of Shantun. The directional description defines the limits of the campaign route. The postposition <em>teg<\/em> means \u201cup to.\u201d<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong> Geographical Expressions and Boundary Definitions<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The place names in the inscription indicate the eastern and northern lines of the region. These names reflect not only geographical positions but also political boundaries. Directional terms are significant for determining the scope of expeditions.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong> The Weakening of the Turkic People and Its Causes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The phrase \u201cyab\u0131z people\u201d emphasizes the weakened state of the nation. External pressures and misguidance contributed to this loss of strength.
